Morris and Sussex Elder Law, Guardianship and Special Needs

Long-term care, incapacity and asset-protection decisions often arise together. Hardesty Law Group, P.C. helps families with Medicaid planning and applications, fair hearings, guardianship proceedings, special needs trusts and practical steps for preserving decision-making authority and financial security.

Planning Areas

Medicaid Planning and Applications

Review of income and asset rules, planning for care at home or in a facility, application support and coordination with estate and tax planning.

Medicaid Appeals and Fair Hearings

Review of denials, development of the record and representation through the administrative fair hearing process.

Guardianship and Incapacity

Powers of attorney, advance directives and adult guardianship proceedings when a valid decision-making plan is not available.

Special Needs Planning

Special needs trusts, benefit-preservation planning and coordination of family resources for a person with a disability.

Experience That Connects the Issues

Leonard J.C. Hardesty, Jr. brings more than 25 years of experience and advanced tax training to elder law and estate planning. Clients work directly with experienced counsel to understand options, tradeoffs and next steps.

Initial consultations are 60 minutes and require a $650 payment to confirm. The fee is non-refundable and the appointment is reschedulable, subject to availability. If the firm is engaged, the $650 is credited toward attorney time actually expended at applicable hourly rates. Representation begins only after completion of an existing-client conflict check and execution of a written engagement agreement.
